Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations

Golf Vacations

Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations

One of my favorite places to go for a golf vacation is Myrtle Beach.  This is one of the hot spots for golfers because it offers the best of both worlds.  There are so many great golf courses to play.

If you and your golfing buddies are looking for ideas on your next golf vacation, I suggest you check out http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net.  They are the authority on everything from Local golf course knowledge to setting up tee times.

Whether you have ever been to Myrtle Beach for a golf  vacation or you are a South Carolina local, you need to know which Myrtle Beach golf Courses are the best to play.  Plan ahead and find out which courses are undergoing repairs or improvements.  Plan your outings, or just see who has the best prices in town.

Even though we are still in the heat of the summer and golf is being played all over the country, it is never too early to plan your next golf vacation.  The last thing you want to do is be scrambling in December or January to find a place to go warm up and play some golf.

Myrtle Beach Golf Packages are some of the most reasonable and you won’t be disappointed.  Whether you are looking to play on the TPC at Myrtle Beach, River Club, Kings North or any of the 84 courses that are available and there is a golf package to fit your foursome.

Next time you need to get away to play golf, consider going to experience one of South Carolina’s treasures.

Golf Sense

Golf Sense – A Practical and Creative Approach

Recently I had the opportunity to read a book by Roy Palmer called “Golf Sense – Practical Tips On How To Play Golf In The Zone”. I call it a unique approach to golf psychology and a must read for golfers of all levels.

When I started reading the book I was not sure what to expect. You see, Roy is not a golfer and has never really played the game.

I have read several different books over the years that have to do with golf psychology.  It is a very popular topic and I have found that, although I have learned a little something from each book, they were all basically the same.

You know, you have to visualize the shot, prepare your mind with your pre-shot routine and develop a trigger to get you into the moment and so on.  This is all very good information and will help the average golfer improve over time. The problem is, unless you understand exactly what all that means and how to apply it, you will never reap the benefits.

Needless to say, I was expecting a variation of these techniques in the books I had already read.  What I found was a completely different approach to golf psychology.  The more of the book I read the more I knew that there was gold in these pages. Read the rest of this entry

Betting on Golf Gains Popularity

It is not unusual to hear people talk about betting on sports.  There are many who like to place the occasional bet on the horses, football, baseball and other sports.

Last week while watching the British Open, I was caught off guard when I heard the commentators talking about the odds of different players.  I was even more surprised to learn that golf was another sport where online sports’ betting is common.

In Europe, people like to bet on golf and have made a regular sport of it.  Wagers on events like the British Open draw lots of attention and ads to the excitement of the tournament.  There are many different types of wagers that are placed on the event and avid golfers have found that a side bet on golf brings a bit more anticipation to the event.

Golf Wagers Among Friends

Having a little wager with your friends makes the round of golf a little more competitive and makes for an interesting afternoon. But it did surprise me to learn that betting on your favorite professional golfer would be as big as say, betting on the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby or other sporting events.
