Have you ever been out playing golf and hit a ball into a water hazard? If you say know, then either you have never played a course with water hazards or you are full of something (LOL).
A few weeks ago I was able to get out to play golf on a weekday, a rare occasion for me, when I spotted a guy in a wetsuit coming out of a water hazard. I knew there had to be a way that golf courses were able to retrieve golf balls, but never really gave it much thought.
I realize that divers wear wetsuits, but never thought I would see one on the golf course!
What really surprised me was the number of golf balls the diver had. I watched him carry two large bags of golf balls out of the lake and take them over to a golf cart. He must have had 4 or 5 huge bags of golfs balls on that cart. This had to have amounted to a thousand golf balls or more.
I guess you never realize just how many golf balls end up in the drink until you see a sight like this. It makes me wonder how long they have been in the water and how that might affect the ball. The next you buy a dozen slightly used golf balls, you may want to think about where they came from.
