Getting the Most from Golf Lessons

It’s not easy asking for help, but in golf, it’s almost a necessity.  Many times we often ask our buddies and partners for pointers, when in we should take a lesson or two from a professional.

For the most part, a professional instructor is going to be able to spot the changes needed to help you improve.  They will be honest, positive and very helpful if you give them the opportunity.

Lessons aren’t as expensive as you may think.  They are worth the expense because you will see almost immediate improvement in your game, making the game much more enjoyable for you.

The most important thing is to be honest about your game.  The instructor will more than likely ask you what you are struggling with; driving, chipping, putting.  You are the only one that can answer that question, so be sure to share everything you can with them at the very beginning.

Listen carefully and follow the instructions. You may have doubts if the changes your stance, your grip or your swing will make a difference, but start with an open mind before making judgments.

You are paying this person to help you improve, so ask questions.  Don’t worry about whether the questions seem basic, if you aren’t getting the idea; tell him/her that you’re not getting it. You should never walk away from a lesson with unanswered questions.

Concentrate on one thing during your golf lessons.  Trying to do too much can hurt you more than help.  You may want to start with a lesson on driving the ball or it may be a simple as getting the correct grip, the right stance or the right swing.  Whatever it is, take the time to practice the change until you feel comfortable with the change.

You’ve made a large investment in golf equipment; doesn’t it make sense to learn how to use them properly?

Golf lessons are very important, but fitness should also be a top priority. It should focused on diet and exercise as a coordinated effort. I was thinking it would also be beneficial to monitor RMR,BMI, and calories burned. Then you would have some accuracy in determining and adjusting your diet for weight gain or loss. If anyone is interested I have found Online calculators available for RMR, BMI & Calories Burned and how to get big muscles , . These are pretty simple, just enter your age, weight, height and activities you have done during the day. The calculator’s will do the rest and tell you how many calories you use for the whole day and when at rest. This could help someone know how to adjust their diet to either gain weight or lose weight.
