Golf Swing Technique – Short Game Drills

Improving your golf game and lowering your scores is the goal of golfers of all levels.  Many golfers will focus on their golf swing technique to hit the golf ball further.  They feel that distance will make a difference in lower scores.

Other golfers think that they will lower their scores if they can shape their shots.

There are other golfers that feel that practicing their putting will help in lowering their scores.

All of these aspects of the game are important, but there is one part of the game that most golfers spend very little time working on.

I have found that the one golf swing technique that has made the most difference in my game is practicing my short game.  When I put in the time to improve my chipping, I was able to lower my scores without working on any other part of my game.

What I found is that no matter how many hours I put into working on other parts of the game, I still missed greens in regulation.  I was throwing away strokes around the green because I was leaving myself putts that were outside my comfort zone.

When you have a strong chipping game and can get the ball close to the hole, you will take fewer putts and this will take pressure off the rest of your game.
