There are many different golf club manufacturers doing anything they can to woo your to buy their products.  If you watch golf you will see commercials from Cleveland Golf, Callaway, TaylorMade, Adams and others.  With the advancements in technology, you find that most of the newer golf clubs on the market have many of the same characteristics.

So, these days, it comes down to trust in the company more than the specific technology.  Let’s face it, when a new innovation is introduced by one company it isn’t long before all are creating their own version.

It seems like every time you turn around there is a new driver adjustment that is supposed to give your straighter shots and longer drives.

When it comes to playing golf though, there are more shots taken from inside of 150 yards than anywhere else on the golf course.  With that said it is important to have wedges you can depend on.  That is why many professional golfers are carrying 3 or even 4 different golf wedges in their bags.

Whether you are playing from a green side bunker, playing from a tight lie or working from the rough, golf wedges make getting the ball close to the hole easier.

Then there are hybrid clubs. With this innovation, many amateur golfers are now finding it easier to play those shots that used to require a long iron.  There is no doubt that this club has made long shots easier for the average golfer.

When you decide it is time to buy a new set of clubs, be assured that no matter which manufacturer you choose, you will be getting the latest technology.  The more important thing to consider is first your budget and then which clubs will best suit your level of play.  If you are a high handicapper, then you want to focus more on clubs that are more forgiving than a set the a scratch golfer would use.

Choose a shaft that fits your swing speed. That may mean a graphite over steel, medium flex over stiff.  This will also give you a better idea on whether cavity backed or forged are better for your game.  Lastly, you may want to go with a hybrid or two instead of the long irons. They are more forgiving and easier to hit.
