Paula Creamer wins the 2010 Womens US Open at Oakmont Country Club.  Only months after having reconstructive surgery to her left thumb, Creamer fought threw the pain to win 4 strokes.

She finished the tournament as the only player under par on what was the toughest test the the LPGA tour has faced in recent times.

When she hit her approach shot on twelve, the pain was too much and she couldn’t help but cry out in pain.

It took a lot of courage and determination for Paula to come back and play tournament golf only weeks after her surgery.

We want to take a moment to congratulate on her triumphant win at Oakmont Country Club.

Short Golf Story

I don’t usually post stuff like this, but I just couldn’t resist.  Everyone needs a little humor in their lives. This little story that a good friend of mine sent over made me laugh.

I hope no one is offended by this…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tom stood over his tee shot on the 450 yard 18th hole for what seemed an eternity. He waggled, looked up, looked down, waggled again, but didn’t start his back swing.
Finally his exasperated partner asked, “What in the world is taking so long?”
“My wife is watching me from the clubhouse balcony,” Sam explained. “I want to make a perfect shot.’”
His companion said, “You don’t have a chance in hell of hitting her from here.”
Cindy stood over her tee shot on the 370 yard 18th hole for what seemed an eternity. She waggled, looked up, looked down, waggled again, but didn’t start her back swing.
Finally her exasperated partner asked, “What in the world is taking so long?”
“My husband is watching me from the clubhouse balcony,” Cindy explained. “I want to make a perfect shot.’”
Her companion said, “You don’t have a chance in hell of hitting him from here.”
Goydos Shoots 59 at John Deere Classic
Shooting a 59 on tour is very rare.  It was even more impressive on Thursday when Paul Goydos shot 59 in the first round at the John Deere Classic. Goydos has been struggling this year and has missed almost as many cuts as he has made this year and has only 2 top 10 finishes in 2010.
What is even more amazing about the first round is Steve Stricker shooting 60 on the same day.  He narrowly missed his putt on the last hole that would have given him a 59, as well.
