It is such a beautiful sight when you launch that perfect Tee shot. You know the one, straight down the fairwayPurePoint Golf Driver DVD with lots of loft and carry. I always appreciate a good tee shot, especially when it’s mine.

Tell the truth, when you walk out onto the first tee, what are you thinking? I know that most Golfers including Professionals are thinking “Let me hit this Drive Long and Straight and in the fairway”.

What you do on the first tee will more than likely dictate how the rest of your round will play out.

Hit a good drive and your confidence is up and you are ready to take on the golf course and all of its challenges. Hit it poorly and you will be wondering what to expect next.

If you are like most amateur golfers, you have been searching for the answer to Launching Drives consistently down the fairway with pin-point accuracy. There is probably nothing more frustrating for the average golfer than inconsistency on tee.

Like most golfers, you’ve more than likely tried everything to improve your game. You have spent thousands on new clubs, taken numerous lessons, spent hours and hours practicing at the driving range or bought different golf balls. The more you try the more frustrated you become when none of this seems to make any difference. Read the rest of this entry

Playing Golf in Bad Weather – Part 3

Playing Golf in Cold Weather

playing golfPlaying golf in cold weather will affect every aspect of your game more than playing the rain or wind. Be prepared to keep yourself as warm as possible out on the golf course.

Some of the clothing changes you will probably make are wearing thermal clothing under your clothes and your rain pants on top of your slacks. You will want to wear a turtleneck or a sweater plus a windbreaker or a rain jacket.

Remember, you can always take something off if you get too warm. You should also wear a ski cap to keep your head warm and consider getting some hand warmer packs or bring a set of winter gloves to keep your hands warm.

• You will need to make sure you warm up your muscles. Be sure to do about 10 minutes of stretching before you play. I would also consider walking the golf course to keep warm. Not only will this help keep your body temperature up, you will get a better feel for the course.

• Remember, your golf ball won’t travel as far in the cold. A cold ball will feel hard around the green but; will not be affected by the cold as much as with a full shot. Read the rest of this entry

The thing is, because of this approach it is only natural that your swing would be inconsistent. This of course leads to struggling from round to round, wondering why you played so well last time, but are stinking up the course this time.

When I was younger, I would spend hours and hours practicing. As I got older, I found I had less time to practice because of work and other obligations. My game suffered some because, rather than giving up my playing time, I gave up my practice time.

This is the choice that most amateurs have to make. Not only is free time an issue, but the weather and seasons also come into play.

So What Can You Do About Your Golf Swing Consistency Without Spending Hours at the Driving Range?
