Mental Side of Golf – Do You Have a Clear Vision of Your Shot?

It happens to us all. We’ll set up a tee time to play a round of Golf knowing in our minds that we are going to have a great day on the golf course. Our intentions are to go out to the course, meet up with friends and play a competitive round of golf.

But as the round unfolds we start hitting errant shots. Maybe we hit a fade and it ends up in the first cut of rough. A couple of swings later we might pull a shot or hit it a bit chunky. You get the idea, when we headed out to play, we expected different results.

So what happened?

If you are like most players, you’re scratching your head wondering what you have to do to fix your swing. But it’s not your swing at all; it’s the Mental Side of Golf that is affecting you.

When was the last time you practiced visualizing your golf shot?Mental Side of Golf

When was the last time you took time to practice the Mental Side of Golf?

When you go to the driving range, do you take the time to mentally prepare for your practice, or are you just out there trying to improve your swing?

I often asked myself these questions, until I finally realized that Golf is 80% mental and 20% Physical. Think about it… Like most, I like to watch the Pros play. I want to see how they are going to perform in different situations.

Professional Golfers spend hundreds of hours practicing their swings, working with coaches and preparing. Why is it then that we see a professional come down the back nine on Sunday leading a tournament end up losing by a stroke or two?

The problem isn’t their swing; the problem is with the Mental Side of Golf. They are no longer in their comfort zone, mentally. They are thinking about the trouble areas they need to avoid instead of where they want the ball to land. Read the rest of this entry

Get Maximum Distance from Your Golf Swing

I believe that every Golfer is continually trying to get maximum distance from our Golf swings when out on the golf course. Often times this leads to mishit shots, hooking or slicing the ball missing the fairway or the green. There is a way to get maximum distance from your swing without sacrificing accuracy.

What would you give to hit the ball 20, 30, 40 or 50 yards further?

Golf Professional Bobby Eldridge has put together the PurePoint Maximum Distance DVD. Once again he has come up with a method that is easy to learn and carry out to the course. We all know that at the end of the day our goal is to not only out score our playing partners, but we want to out drive them all day.

There is nothing more satisfying on the golf course than getting maximum distance off the Tee and putting pressure on your opponents. With amateurs, seeing someone they are playing against out driving them tends to put pressure on them. The natural tendency is to try hit the ball as far as their opponent.

Now you can walk out to the first tee with the confidence knowing that you have a secret weapon in your bag that will intimidate your opponent. With the PurePoint Maximum Drive Training Program, you will learn to add distance to every shot.

Why should you buy the PurePoint Maximum Drive training DVD?

Some of the things you’ll learn…..

  • Why a “white knuckles” grip is death for distance.
  • How to develop round backswings and downswings.
  • The way to keep your club on a steady swing path.
  • How to control your weight when you swing.
  • Why the knees are key to achieving distance.
  • The secret of solid contact with a closed clubface.
  • How to achieve proper “release”.

Bobby Eldridge gives you practice drills to go with each section of his Maximum Distance DVD Training Program. He will also show you what not to do.

What can you expect to learn from all of this?

  • More solid shots and fewer thin ones.
  • No more slicing (if you’re still doing that).
  • Near-perfect timing.
  • Greater distance than you ever thought possible.

Bobby Eldridge has packed this Maximum Distance DVD training program with everything he knows about adding distance to your game. Don’t let that overwhelm you; you’re not going to absorb 30 years worth of golf instruction all at once.

What you want to do is go through the Maximum Distance DVD one chapter at a time and determine where you need help the most. Work on one thing at a time until you’re feeling good about it and then you move on.
