score cardImproving Your Golf Game in the Off Season is not as hard as it may seem. You can lower your score 7 to 12 strokes this off season in a matter of weeks.

If you are like most golfers, your golf game suffers during the winter months. Either the weather is bad or there aren’t enough daylight hours to get out and practice or play.

If you live in a warmer climate you don’t have the weather issues that most of us deal with. Living in a colder climate creates a real challenge for golfers trying to maintain their golf game.

Over the last few years we have seen more indoor practice facilities open up and there are a few outdoor driving ranges that try and stay open during the winter, but weather tends to affect these facilities.  Practicing at the indoor centers can get expensive to use and in some cases require scheduling time to get access.

So what can we do to maintain our mid-season form during the winter months?Renegade Mental Golf

Here are some easy to do and cost effective ways to overcome this dilemma.

stretchingThroughout time, Golfers everywhere have looked for ways to improve their golf game. Flexibility is one of the most important aspects of a good golf swing. By doing some simple stretching exercises you can improve your flexibility and your golf game.

Many golfers believe that in order to hit the ball further, they have to swing harder. The reality is that with more flexibility your golf swing will naturally create more club head speed without swinging any harder. You will be able to hit the ball further off the tee with more accuracy by doing some very simple stretching exercises.

Having a fluid golf swing is one of the keys to consistency. Stretching exercises will give you the ability to develop that consistent fluid swing. By just taking a few minutes a day to stretch your muscles your performance on the golf course will improve.

Do you need to improve your shoulder turn? With the correct stretching exercises you will be able to improve your shoulder rotation and improve your golf swing.

Trying to play golf when you are dealing with a sore lower back is almost impossible. Doing some simple stretching exercises is a good way of reducing and in some cases eliminate lower back pain all together. Not only will this help with your golf game, it will help you in your everyday life. Nagging back pain is one of the hardest things tostretching2 ignore no matter what you do.

Improving your circulation and your blood flow is an important aspect of good health. Stretching exercises that are used by professional golfers in preparation for a grueling day on tour are the same exercises that will help you improve your circulation and blood flow.

Whether you are young or old, a newbie to the game of golf or a seasoned golfer, simple stretching exercises should be a part of your daily routine. When you take the time to loosen your muscles and prepare your body for a day on the golf course, your body will be prepared and you will be more likely to play better.

I take time to do my stretching exercises before I ever swing a golf club.  I know it has helped me and I am sure it will help you. For more information on improving your golf game with simple stretching exercises, I recommend you take a look at 101 Stretches for Golf.
