The Simple Golf Swing Review
Like most golfers, I am always looking for the perfect golf swing. You know what I mean, a repeatable swing you can depend on. I just finished reviewing a book called The Simple Golf Swing and found the approach to be pretty straight forward.
This is my review of this book.
One thing that caught me by surprise was the length of the book. The book is short sweet and to the point. Most instructional books on Golf or any subject for that matter tend to ramble on forever.
Most lessons that I review are filled with little nuances that you have to think about when you are playing golf.
The worst thing that you can do when playing golf is think too much about your swing.
This book focuses on 4 key elements that will prepare you for developing a solid repeatable golf swing. These 4 key elements cover proper setup, the grip, alignment and timing. All of these are important parts of a good golf swing, but are often made more complicated than they need to be.
In order to have a repeatable golf swing, you have to work similar to a pendulum swinging back and forth on the same path time and time again. This is the basis of the Simple Golf Swing.
Author David Nevogt, takes a very easy to follow 5 step approach to building a repeatable golf swing that will work for golfers of all levels.
The Simple Golf Swing discusses 5 steps to improve your Golf Swing…
1. The setup is the starting point for building a repeatable golf swing.
2. After covering the proper setup the book discusses the proper grip. The grip is our only connection with the golf club, so having the proper grip is essential to building that repeatable golf swing.
3. Alignment is the next thing covered. If your shots are going straight, but not in the direction you have chosen, then alignment is the culprit.
4. If you are struggling with errant shots, then timing is another factor in developing your repeatable golf swing. Most amateurs struggle with this part of their game.
5. Finally, the secret weapon for distance will be covered. This one is so simple, but not often covered in other golf instruction books that I have read.
In order to offer a good review of the Simple Golf Swing, I took these lessons to heart and put them to task. I have already seen a difference in my swing and have regained a bit of distance that I thought I had lost.
I found that I ended up rereading some areas to get a true understanding of what was being conveyed. But once I took it out to the driving range and then the golf course and put it to the test, everything made more sense.
There is no quick fix for your swing, but give it a couple of weeks and I know that the Simple Golf Swing make a huge difference in your swing.
